Good Shepherd Christian School is a non-denominational Pre-K through 8th grade elementary school serving Ulster and Northern Dutchess counties. Our mission is to “raise up well-educated children who know the Lord and choose to serve Him”.

Founded in 1979, Good Shepherd Christian School provides a Christ-centered learning environment characterized by the warmth of Christian love with small classroom settings. Our program is guided by an exceptional team of dedicated and experienced faculty.

No student will be considered ineligible on the basis of sex, race, national, or ethnic origin.

Truth

We hold to the precious truth that every child is a personal creation of the Lord, lovingly created for a unique purpose. Our teachers are trained to teach skills, facts and concepts within the context of the Christian Biblical perspective.

Academics

We always strive to teach and inspire academic excellence and the vast majority of our students score well above the norm on national tests. In addition to courses in language, math, science and history, we conduct daily Bible lessons.

Creative Arts

Both visual and performance art are essential to the curriculum at Good Shepherd and are considered critical components in child development. The faculty emphasizes appreciation for all arts and the enrichment they provide in school and beyond.

We believe that a competitive sports program can benefit our students in a number of ways. Team competition provides meaningful life experience in cooperation, perseverance, and dealing with pressure.
